Ballet Class

With River Oaks Dance Company

The Leap’n’Learn program is designed to provide boys and girls with a strong foundation of dance and movement focusing on flexibility, balance, rhythm, musicality and spacial awareness in a fun, positive and imaginative environment.

LEGO Preschool Class

This class is specifically designed for preschool aged children to learn about letters, numbers, shapes and colors. They will create exciting models using DUPLO Bricks, allowing them to build on a scale designed for their little hands.

Little Geniuses Chess Class

Little Geniuses is a chess song singing, laughing, chess-tourney, dancing, chess clock-slapping, zany chess video, puppet show introduction to chess. During this high-energy, 45-minute chess practice, kids will play chess and take part in fun activities for prizes. We delightfully impart to every one of our Little Geniuses a self-identity as a very smart person at this crucial and developmentally formative preschool stage.

Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots is a uniquely designed program that will introduce soccer to your child in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Each week the 30-minute sessions will offer basic soccer skills, fun games, competitions and prizes to your child. The program also emphasizes character-forming lessons such as respect, honesty, sharing, teamwork, patience and encouragement.

Ages 3 – 5

Spanish for Niños

¡Hola niños! There are life-long advantages to be gained from early language learning, advantages that extend way beyond the gift of language alone. We provide young children the opportunity to learn and experience the Spanish language through music and play! We focus on the young child’s natural ability to develop language effortlessly.

Tae Kwon Do

With Bruce Alamdari

Children will have fun with a wide range of activities, including Tae Kwon Do, Bo and Nunchucks, as well as other fun games. The fee does not include the uniform, which is purchased from instructor.

Woodworking

With Linda Engelland

Classes are taught by Linda Engelland who has a BS in education from The University of Texas and is an AMS Montessori certified teacher. She has taught young children for many years and has very successfully taught woodworking for young children for more than 20 years.

Ages 4 1/4 – 10

Wednesdays, January 30 – May 1 (no class March 6 and 13)

1:10 – 2:10 p.m. or 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Woodworking II (must have taken Woodworking I and have instructor permission)

4 – 5 p.m.
Advanced Woodworking (5-10 years old; must have taken Woodworking II and have instructor permission)

5 – 6 p.m.
Woodworking II and Advanced Woodworking (7-10 years old; must have instructor permission)

Winter Woodworking

Let’s Go Snowboarding Woodshop with Linda Engelland

No experience is necessary for this winter woodworking adventure. Wear a winter hat just for fun! We will build a miniature snowboard and snowboarder (4″ long x 2″ high) using basic hand tools, and then race them down a laminated slope in the classroom for fun.

Pre-piano Lessons

With Marilyn Hanovich

Pre-piano music classes are especially designed to prepare children to learn the keyboard. These future musicians will learn rhythm, notes on the keyboard  and fingering. The class incorporates the use of musical games and “ just fun with the piano”.

Classes are available for children 3½ – 6 years of age.
