Docent Guild and Tours

Members of St. Martin’s Docent Guild share their love and knowledge of the Church with others by conducting tours that meet in the Narthex of The Church on:

  • First Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays and the first Friday of the month at 10-11 a.m. September through June
  • Fourth Wednesday organ recital at 11-11:15 a.m.*

Our dedicated docents represent our Church to the public, both Christian and non-Christian alike.

All docents must attend a complete training session. Training includes learning about the history of St. Martin’s, an overview of Gothic architecture, and basic facts concerning the size and construction of the Church building, Gloria Dei Organ, and stained glass windows. All docents are asked to sign a commitment, acknowledging the pledge of service and understanding the responsibilities that will be assumed.

For information about scheduling a group tour, please call St. Martin’s Docent Guild at 713-830-4117 and leave a contact name and number for a return phone call.

*Organ recitals happen most fourth Wednesdays. Please contact Cyndy Gubbs to verify in advance.
