Event Details

Parishioners and guests are invited to make their own pilgrimage along the Via Dolorosa, or “Way of Sorrows,” during Lent 2016. The Stations of the Cross depict the final hours (or Passion) of Jesus  and the devotion commemorating the Passion. Each station is represented by a custom wooden cross along with a bronze casting by artist Alex Hallmark. The purpose and spiritual significance of  walking these stations is to assist Christians, or even inquiring “pilgrims,” reflect in prayer and meditation upon the chief scenes of Christ’s sufferings and death. In doing so, they may be drawn into a deeper relationship with Christ and a life of faithful Christian discipleship.

Stations of the CrossThe free brochure The Stations of the Cross available in The Church Narthex can be used as a guide on this spiritual journey. Each station is illustrated by a photograph and accompanied by a reading describing the station and reflective words and prayers.
