Ken retired as Vice-Rector of St. Martin’s in 2012. While in that position, he oversaw the staff, worship and stewardship ministries of the Parish and assisted the Rector in fulfilling the vision for the Church. One week after his retirement, he began serving as an interim rector in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Over the past seven years, he has served seven parishes, most recently at St. Paul’s in Katy. Prior to his ordination, Ken was in the higher education field, serving colleges in Florida and Alabama. After his ordination, he started and served as rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Alabama, for several years. Ken then served as the Deputy for Communications and Clergy Development in the Diocesan offices before being appointed by the Diocese of Alabama as Chaplain and Rector of Canterbury Chapel at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he served for 12 years. Ken has served in a wide variety of Diocesan and Provincial offices, including the Commission on Ministry and Standing Committee for the Diocese of Alabama, and as Province IV Coordinator for Young Adult and Campus Ministries. He also served as the editor for the Alabama Diocesan Newspaper for several years. In Texas, he has served as a trustee of the Episcopal Foundation and member of the Diocesan Council management team and coordinator for ordinations and other diocesan liturgies. Ken and his wife, Mary Alice, have one daughter and two grandsons.
