The Rev. Sharron Cox joined St. Martin’s clergy in October 2020, serving as associate for Outreach, Pastoral Care and Women’s Ministries. She is a life-long Episcopalian, was born and raised in Texas City, and was baptized and confirmed at St. George’s Episcopal Church. She received a bachelor of science degree in sociology and business from Texas A&M University and a master’s in business administration with concentrations in finance and accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. After brief stints in both banking and commercial real estate, Sharron spent 22 years in health care administration, primarily in health policy, before leaving Houston in 2011 to attend seminary at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. She received a master’s in divinity in 2014, graduating with honors. She served as Rector of St Mary’s Episcopal Church in West Columbia, Texas since 2018 after serving as assisting clergy and curate at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco following her ordination.
