Suse McBay at 713-985-3823 or MARATHON SUNDAY, JANUARY 15 Runners in the Chevron Houston Marathon may not be running by St. Martin’s again this year, but your drive to church that Sunday may require a few extra twists and turns on the following streets: • Eastbound Woodway Drive traffic (west of Chimney Rock) will be forced to turn south on Chimney Rock. • Eastbound traffic on Memorial Drive (west of Chimney Rock) will be forced to go north on Chimney Rock While no lunch will be offered on Marathon Sunday, you won’t have to run, or walk, far for the free breakfast that will be served that morning from 7:30 to 10 a.m. in Café St. Martin’s. HOUSTON CIVIC SYMPHONY CONCERT Friday, January 20 7 p.m. The Church The Houston Civic Symphony is a group of highly talented musicians who gather under the direction of Dr. Brian Runnels to perform the masterworks of the symphonic repertoire. THE ALTAR 2ND ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF Sunday, January 29 12:15 p.m. Immediately following the Altar service The Island Enjoy some delicious chili during this popular event that features parishioners’ favorite homemade recipes for the official state dish of Texas. Last year, 19 chili chefs seasoned, mixed, blended and simmered some delicious mouth-watering recipes that were enjoyed by more than 200 parishioners.
