Sunday, November 27 – Parishioners recorded their hopes and dreams for St. Martin’s church family and themselves during the Day of Hope in Bagby Parish Hall. Notes were then placed in the “Hope Chest” that has a permanent home in the Rector’s office where it is prayed over throughout the year. Supplies also were available for church members to make their own personal or family “Hope Chest.” Tuesday, November 29 – Stewardship calling! Nearly 60 parishioners volunteered an hour (or more) to make more than 1,600 telephone calls during the annual Stewardship Call-a-thon. In addition to experienced caller Clyde Bridges, there were numerous first-time call volunteers as well.All volunteers made their 20 calls per shift and many stayed for several shifts to make calls. Some of the high callers included Earnest Hunter, Tom Kent, David and Kelly Leonard, Fran Smith and Dayle Trotti. Many thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers! THE STAR I JANUARY 2017 21
