Audiovisual Director 

 

Job Responsibilities 

The AV Director is responsible for audiovisual technical and creative development, production and training, relative to campus and ministry-wide aspects of live and production oriented audiovisual needs of the Church. He or she must be committed to the Mission and Core Values of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.

Essential Functions 

1.Collaboratively develops and implements vision as it relates to AV systems, while establishing,monitoring and applying superb standards of operation and quality.

2.Creates and produces live stream events while collaborating with the Director of Communications toensure that they are representative of the vision, branding and identity of the church.

3.Recruits, trains, and builds a team of qualified operators (e.g. part time media technicians) for allworship services, ministry events, and special events, including but not limited to Sunday andWednesday services (e.g. weddings, funerals and other events).

4.Operates and maintains all church AV systems, assuming the role of lead sound and video producer forall worship services and special events, while providing excellent professional support to all customers(i.e. clergy, lay staff, congregation, and community) at all times.

5.Supervises, operates and schedules audio, lighting, live streaming and related services for all worshipservices.

6.Provides technical expertise and solutions relative to live audio, recorded audio, web audio, lighting, andstage production for the church facility.

7.Keeps current with new technology development in equipment, hardware, and computer softwareprograms, and plans for continual education of AV team.

8.Provides day-to-day front-line support for church programs and administrative ministries through AVsystems management in partnership with an outsourced IT service provider.

9.Manages complex AV schedules for events, staff and related areas maximizing staff output.

10.Supports, sets up and operates Zoom and Zoom Webinar events for worship services, clergy, and others.

11.Produces the best possible atmosphere for worship and other venues utilizing audio, lighting, and othermedia reinforcement.

12.Inputs worship elements such as slides, lyrics, and transitions into ProPresenter and similar programs asrequired.

13.Works with individuals, congregational groups, and third parties that use church facilities and may haveneeds for media support (e.g. wedding parties and funerals).

14.Attends weekly staff and worship planning meetings, and other called meetings as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications 

− Highly skilled in verbal and written communication. 

− Possesses advanced negotiation, organizational and time management skills. 

− Able to think, produce and solve problems under intense deadline pressure. 

− Able to multi-task and prioritize workload for staff. 

Education and Experience 

− Bachelor’s degree in multimedia production or closely related field is required. A degree in information technology, communications or theater tech may be considered. 

− A minimum of five years of experience in professional multimedia production. 

− Desired working knowledge of the following: •Modern audio/visual networking (e.g. NDI, DANTE), live and recorded audio production (LogicPro Audio digital sound consoles and other sound reinforcement equipment, vocal and instrumental mixing, wireless mics, etc.) 

•Filming and video editing (Final Cut Pro, Premier, After Effects, Adobe Creative Cloud)

•Professional Television Production and Streaming Equipment (portable and PTZ video camerasand switchers)

•Basic IT networking and support

•Mac OS Operating Environment

•Windows OS Operating Environment

•Windows Server Environment

•Microsoft Office Suite

− Experience working in a church or religious institution is ideal.

Director of Student Ministries

Full time; exempt position

We are seeking a deeply committed, energetic and loving Christian, rooted in the Biblical and historic Faith, to help lead our teens to become and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.

Job Responsibilities

The future Director of Student Ministries at St Martin’s will have a passion for getting to know students, building relationships, and journeying alongside young people as they explore and deepen their faith through their Middle and High School years.

You will get to lead a strong team, well supported by the clergy, vestry and wider church, as well as a team of committed volunteers. The program year is set until the end of the summer, and so you’ll get to spend your first six months with us focusing on finding your feet, getting to know our wonderful families and rounding out the school year by joining us at Summer Camp in Florida, and on our Mission Trips.

If you are an experienced leader, looking to raise up new young people in the church, if you have a keen sense of fun, and are looking for a position where you can be grown and celebrated as a crucial part of ministry life in this Episcopal Church, then St Martin’s could be the church home for you.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversees the Student Ministries program and supervises the department.
  2. Manages diligently all financial resources and designated facilities (e.g. plans yearly budgets, delegates tasks, oversees purchases and care of equipment and supplies, etc.)
  3. Develops and implements ministry structures to effectively transition students from one grade level to the next including HS and beyond.
  4. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for contact and communication with students and their families.
  5. Develops a parent ministry team and meets with them regularly for support, guidance and input.
  6. Supervises special events including but not limited to Student Ministry mission trips, retreats, and Summer Days.
  7. Meets periodically with executive leadership, ministry directors, and associate priest maintaining excellent relationships of mutual support and understanding.
  8. Provides monthly statistical reports to the vice-rector, and attends program staff meetings, vestry meetings and retreats, as requested.
  9. Liaises and communicates clearly with the rector, vestry, clergy, church staff, volunteer leaders, and students and their families.
  10. Represents the church by serving on appropriate committees and organizations in the community and diocese.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Has a strong personal commitment to follow Christ, a genuine passion for ministering to students and their families, and an appreciation for the richness of the Episcopal tradition
  • Gifted communicator with a warm, engaging manner who is empowered by being part of the team he/she leads
  • Has an active approach to programs and relationship building
  • Passionate for ministry administration

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field and 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Three years supervising employees and/or volunteers
  • Considerable experience in ministry, program management and leading through organizational change
  • High level of computer literacy with intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Some formal theological training, public speaking and teaching experience preferred
  • Flexibility, good humor, and creative problem solving is essential.
